I still can't believe you are gone.My heart is broke ! You will always be in my heart. The letter I wrote to you, when I finish taking my course at the academy , I said to you that my mom sent me a angel and that was you! Now you can spread your beautiful wings and fly. Marlene was a beautiful lady dedicated to her teaching career. She made sure even if your knowledge was limited in hair, that you left with the abilities to embark on a rewarding career. She was so helpful to me and gave me the confidence to excel in our field. My thoughts and prayers go out to the family and friends she has left behind. May you rejoice and celebrate her life at this difficult time. I believe it's what she would've wanted. God Bless all of you.

I had the honour of training at hair school under this absolutely amazing woman. She articulate, kind, funny, and a master in her skills. I would be mesmerized watching her demonstrate cutting with her shears. she was so talented. Marlene (Ms. Bouchie as I knew her) was an excellent teacher and mentor across the board. While required to maintain her professional side of instructing she also offered emotional support and counselling to many students. It was as though we had a Hair School Mother with us. A lovely, lovely woman.

To Marlene's family/friends
There are few people that stand out that have made a mark on my career as a hairstylist and Marlene was certainly one of them. Her voice is still with me every day when trying to braid and check through my haircuts. Her amount of patience, dedication, passion are a rare gift and myself along with so many other students are truly blessed forever to have know and been instructed by her. I will never forget the twinkle in her eye when a student would tell her their career goals and she was always one of the biggest supporters for every single student especially the underdog. Knowing her for my 10 months in school and sometime after was a true privilege and I can't even fathom what losing her must be like for those near and dear to her. My her warm smile and beautiful soul stay with you all and no doubt hundreds of memories bring you comfort during your grief.
