Marie A. Lingley

It is with great sadness the family announces the passing of Marie Antoinette (Connell) Lingley which occurred at Bobby’s Hospice on Friday, September 21st, 2018.  Born 1939, in Saint John, she was the daughter of the late Thomas and Lillian (VanTassel) Connell.  Marie worked as a housekeeper at the DVA as well as the Saint John Regional Hospital.  She was a member of the St. Mark’s Senior’s and the St. Mark’s Care and Concern Committee. Marie was an avid reader and she enjoyed playing cards, especially cribbage.

Marie is survived by her sons Jon, Jeff (Rochelle), Jarrett (Darlene) all of Saint John; daughter Janice Woods of New Brunswick; brothers Frederick (Louise) of Burton, NB, Wayne of Moncton, NB; sister Rosalie Savoy of Quispamsis; several grandchildren and great grandchildren; as well as many nieces, nephews and friends.  Besides her parents, Marie was predeceased by her husband Jon, brothers Garrett and William, sister Noreen and great grandchild Brayden. 

Arrangements are under the direction of Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road (646-2424) with visitation being held at St. Mark’s Catholic Church (171 Pettingill Road, Quispamsis) on Wednesday, October 3rd from 10 to 12 p.m. followed by a Celebration of Life at 12 noon.  Interment will take place at a later date.  Donations in memory of Marie may be made to the Diabetes Association or to the charity of the donor’s choice.
