Marguerite Marie Richard

Marguerite Marie Richard, devoted wife of the late Emile Richard, passed away peacefully at the Saint John Regional Hospital on Saturday, June 10th 2017 with her family by her side. Born August 7, 1931 in St. Charles, New Brunswick, she was the daughter of the late Maxime and Elsie (Daigle) Richard.  

Marguerite is survived by her loving children Paul E. Richard, Patsy Anne Conway (Randy Foster), Francine Marie Montague (Pat) and Rose Marie Richard (Philip Sands); she is also survived by her sister Maria Gallant, sister in-law Emerise and her cherished grandson Billy Conway, great granddaughter Gracie Josephine.
Numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Marguerite worked many years as a Nursing Attendant beginning at Centracare and later retiring from the Turnbull Nursing Home. The main focus of her life was on her family and home. She was the matriarch and cornerstone of the family and held this role with great pride.  In her spare time, she enjoyed knitting listening to country music and playing pull-tabs.  She will be forever missed by her feline companion, Bella the cat.

In addition to her husband Emile and parents, Marguerite is predeceased by her brothers Adelard, Leo, Benoit, Albert sister Nadia Gallant (Alyre) as well as her first husband Romeo Lanteigne, sister in-law (Edith) and brothers in-law, Alyre and Livain, special son in-law, Gary.

Marguerite will be resting at the Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road (646-2424) with visitation hours being held on Wednesday, June 14 between 2-4 and 6-8 PM. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Our Lady of Assumption Catholic Church on Thursday, June 15 at 12 noon. Interment to take place at St. Joseph’s Cemetery.

Memorial donations if desired can be placed towards the Heart and Stroke Foundation, Diabetic Society or donor’s choice.

On behalf of our family we would like to acknowledge and give thanks to the nurses and staff of 4BS and 3BN, special thank you to Dr. Blacquiere, Dr. Webster and Dr. Wildish for their care shown to Mom.  We would also like to say thank you to the entire We Care Home Care Agency.
