Margaret Audet Obituary

It is with profound sadness that Marc Audet would like to announce the sudden passing of his beloved mother, Margaret Theresa Audet, which occurred at her residence of October 11, 2019. Born in Pembroke, Ont., she was the daughter of the late Arthur J. and Aurore (Dumouchel) Laroche.

She met her husband, Andre Audet. at Chalk River, Ont., while serving him breakfast in George's Diner where she was working. After their marriage they owned and operated the Tecumseh Tavern from 1970 until 1980. In July of 1981 until 1986 the couple had the Sunoco Stop 42 franchise in Tecumseh, Ontario, and from 1987 until 1992 they were the proprietors of the Tree Top Restaurant in Chalk River, Ont.

Margaret, from the inception of personal computers, was very skilled, her first computer being a Commodore VIC 20. She was very talented with her knitting, crocheting and sewing sharing these skills through her beautiful works. She always relied on CBC to keep her abreast of current events and had a keen interest in her ancestry.

Besides her son Marc and her daughter-in-law Valerie Ward she is survived by her grandsons Ashton and Evan Audet, her special daughter Susan 'Susie' (Gray) and her husband Doug Desjardins and their family, Michelle (Bill) and her son Landon, her brother Carl Laroche (Elda), her sisters Lorretta Baker (the late Eddie), Frances Haggart (the late Wilf), Jean Jibb (the late Harry) and Ellen Way (Bob), her very special Saint John friend Steven Crawford, and several cousins, nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her first husband Andre Audet (1988), her second husband Danny Rabishaw (1991), brothers; Wilfred (Theresa) and Rene (Nancy) Laroche, and sisters; Ailene Gray (Art) and Betty Turcotte (Melvin).

Arrangements are under the care of Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road (634-2424), and following cremation the family will hold a graveside service at St. Anthony's Catholic Cemetery, Chalk River, Ont., in the Spring of 2020. Remembrances made to the Canadian Cancer Society, the Canadian Diabetes Association or Women's Mental Health would be appreciated by the family.
