Peacefully on Sunday, May 13, 2018, Malcolm Otis Cosman, passed away at Bobby’s Hospice. Born on October 25, 1933 in Springfield, NB, he was the son of the late Lawrence and Julia (Thorne) Cosman.
In addition to his parents he was predeceased by his wife Hester Greta (Hudson) Cosman, and several siblings.
Malcolm worked as a Longshoreman and Supervisor for various ports. He enjoyed playing cribbage, fishing, watching Curling and the Blue Jays games, spending time with his family and friends.
The family would like to thank all the staff and volunteers of Bobby’s Hospice for their care given to Malcolm and their loving support to the family.
He is survived by his children Valerie Samson (Gerry) of Sauble Beach, ON, Malcolm I. Cosman (Debbie) of Saint John, Brenda Burnside of Saint John and Sandra Olejnik (Bob) of Wainwright, AB; his loving companion Nancy Floyd; his 10 grandchildren Ian, Daniel, Natasha, Malcolm, Jason, Brent, Jamie, Kristen, Meagan and Michal; 13 great grandchildren Keyaira, Shylynn, Stanton, Grace, Hailey, Emma, Zoe, Ben, Audrey, Clara, Benjamin, Kassandra and Darryn; his sister Ernestine DeLong of St. Stephen and Audrey Shannon (Don) of Saint John; several nieces and nephews.
Resting at Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road, Saint John (646-2424) on Friday, May 18 from 11am to 2pm, with the funeral service being held from the funeral home chapel at 2 pm. Interment will follow in Ocean View Memorial Gardens. Remembrances in memory of Malcolm may be made to Bobby’s Hospice.
