Lila Kathleen Marks

It is with appreciation for a life well lived that the family of Lila Kathleen Marks announces her passing which occurred on Thursday June 21, 2018 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born 1918 in Little Beach, St. Martins, she was the daughter of the late John and Vera (McKee) McCue and wife of the late Austin G. Marks. She will be greatly missed by her daughters Valerie (Carl) Densmore and Linda Faye Marks; sister Dorothy Bridges; grandchildren Angela, Carla (James Leach), Lori (Carrie O’Bray), Hilory (Bruce Cormier) and Lauren; great-grandchildren Zachary (Serena Little), Ryan, Evan (Robyne Wallace), Allyson, Austin, Grace, Lucas and Adriana; daughter-in-law Carol Marks; several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by her son Tim Marks and siblings Stewart, James, Helen, Eldon and Don.

Lila was a lifelong member of the Anglican Church. She loved watching the Toronto Blue Jays, quilting, playing crib and cards and loved working in her earlier years at Huttges General Store in St. Martins. She looked forward to her weekly visits from Maxx the dog, her daily phone calls or visits from her sister Dot and always loved seeing company coming to visit. She was loved by all that knew her.

The family would like to express their gratitude to Dr. Luan Le and the staff of the Palliative Care Unit for the care and kindness shown to Lila and our family.

Arrangements are under the direction of Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Rd (646-2424) with visitation on Monday June 25, 2018 from 2-6 p.m. A Celebration of her Life will be held at Fundy Funeral Home Chapel on Tuesday June 26, 2018 at 11 a.m. Interment will be held at a later date in Mosher Hill Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations to the Quaco Historical & Library Society or Romero House.
