MacFarlane- The death of Lewis Harold MacFarlane, of Seely Lodge, Westfield Road, husband of the late Veronica (Maloney) occurred on Friday, June 4, 1999 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born in McGivney Junction, N.B. he was the son of the late John H. and Mary E. (Collins) MacFarlane. A retired Stationary Engineer he had been employed at the Barrack Green Armories. Lewis was a veteran of World War II serving with the Royal Canadian Air Force in France, Belgium, England and Germany. He will be missed by his two sons Thomas (Trudy) and Michael (Krista) all of Saint John; two daughters, Mary E. Guimond (Donald) and Veronica Stevens (Alexander) all of Westfield; three brothers, Vernard of Mass. U.S.A., Allan of Ontario and Arthur (Rita) Saint John; two sisters, Alice Fuller and Etta Powers both of Ontario; fifteen grandchildren; 2 step grandchildren and one great grandchild; several nieces and nephews. Lewis was predeceased by brothers, John, Vincent, Father Pat and sisters, Vera, Hughina and Lillian.

Resting at Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road (646-2424). A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, May 7 at 12:00 noon at Our Lady of the Assumption Church. Interment to take place in Holy Cross Cemetery. Visiting Saturday 7 to 9 p.m. and Sunday, 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Father Donald Breen will have a prayer service Saturday 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation; N.B. Lung Association or Tourette's Association would be appreciated by the family.
