Leo Albert Buckley

It is with great sadness the family of Leo Buckley announce his passing which occurred at the Saint John Regional Hospital on Tuesday March 19, 2019. Born in Saint John on May 18, 1942 he was the son of the late Walter and Margaret (Banville) Buckley. Leo worked as a talented Sheet Metal Worker and worked for Fundy Ventilation for many years, retiring in his mid-60. He was a member of the Sheet Metal Workers Union and had a love and passion for Harness Racing.

Leo is survived by his loving wife Margaret (Bonner) Buckley; son Sean Buckley (Sarah); daughters Cynthia Coats and Brenda Lanigan (Peter); 2 granddaughters Bethanie and Paige; one great-grandson Brayden; brothers Bill Buckley (Sue) and Thomas Buckley; sister Janet Buckley; sisters-in-law Brenda Buckley, Doreen Fennell (Donald), Marie Totten and Ann Bonner; several cousins, nieces, nephews and friends. Along with his parents Leo was predeceased by his son-in-law Glenn Coats; sister Darlene Voutour; brothers Jack Buckley and Joseph Buckley; sister-in-law’s Gloria and Carol; brother-in-law’s Alderic Voutour and Frank and Joseph Bonner.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road with visitation on Thursday March 21, 2010 from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. Funeral mass will be held from Our Lady of Assumption Church 360 Dufferin Row on Friday March 22, 2019 at 12:00 p.m. Interment to take place at Holy Cross at a later date.
