Laurie Joseph (Junior) Cormier

It is with profound sadness the family announces the passing of  (Junior) Laurie Joseph Cormier on August 5th, 2018 at the Saint John Regional Hospital.  He was born in Saint John on March 28th, 1957 to the late Laurie and Alice (LeBlanc) Cormier and was the loving husband to wife Ann (Sherwood) Cormier. 

Junior was a former member of the Golden Gloves Boxing Club, and former Tough man Contest winner, who was a pipefitter at the Refinery by trade.  He was not a quiet man, but one who talked all the time and loved to get people going.  He was never without a joke to tell to try to get someone to laugh.    He loved music – it was his joy to experience it.  He took great pride in his Harley Davidson Flat Black Fat Boy Low and his Jeep, but his children and grandchildren were the light of his life, and brought him so much happiness.  Junior was a very special man who will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

Junior will be fondly remembered by his wife of 5 years, Ann,  his two sons; Duran (Michelle) and Berton, two daughters; Ashleigh (Jerren) and Jessica, 8 grandchildren; Dacen, Maxxon, Dylan, Ethan, Brielle, Brodie, Brody and Emmeline, sisters; Susan (David) Todd and Vicky (Larry) Herrington, as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins.  Along with his parents, he was predeceased by his sister Anne Marie and his brother Ricky. 

Arrangements are entrusted to Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road (646-2424) with visitation on Thursday from 2-4 and 6-8 pm. The funeral service will take place at 2PM from the Fundy Funeral Home Chapel on Friday, August 10th, 2018.  For those who wish, remembrances may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated by his family.
