Laura "Doreen" Buck

With great sorrow, her family announces the departure of Laura Doreen Buck from this world to be with her Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. Her passing occurred on Wednesday, November 30th, 2016 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born August 2nd, 1928, in Halifax, NS, she was the daughter of the late George Albert and Florence Hale.

Doreen had a very extensive working career, ending at Neilsons. She was very devoted to her faith most especially her family. She enjoyed bowling with the ship yard league and loved to bake. While she was raising her children on Old Black River Road, everyone looked forward to Doreen’s cookies which she would make for the community and fundraisers.  She was a very giving lady, returning all proceeds back to the community school.

She is survived by her devoted husband of 66 years, Darrell Buck, children; David (Kari) , Darrell Jr (Penny) all of Saint John, Dwayne (Marlene) of Florida and Darrelynn (David) Connell of Saint John.

Doreen is also survived by her brothers; Robert Hamilton of Halifax and Ralph Lynch of Fredericton, N.B, sister in law, Mary (Paul) Stewart and 11 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.

Along with her parents, Doreen was predeceased by her infant grandson, Donald Darrell and step father whom she considered her own father, Harry Lynch.

Doreen will be resting at the Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road (646-2424) with visitation being held on Saturday, December 3rd from 2-8 pm. The Funeral Service will be held from Fundy Funeral Home Chapel on Sunday at 2:00 PM. Interment will be held at Ocean View Memorial Gardens at a later date.

Donations in memory of Doreen may be made to the All Saints Church or Alzheimer Society.
