Larry R. McCoy

It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Lawrence “Larry” Ronald McCoy which occurred at the Saint John Regional Hospital on Monday, December 3rd, 2018.  Born 1938, in Saint John, he was the son of the late Lawrence Edgar and Laura (Gibbons) McCoy.  Larry worked as an Electrician for 50 years. He was a Life Member of the Kiwanis Club of Western Kings and was Managing Director for the Western Kings Kiwanis Lodge for 17 years.  He enjoyed bird watching, playing cards, and refinishing old furniture.  He loved being on the water, boating and soaking up the sun.  Larry often passed on life lessons to other people and occasionally even partook in his own wisdom.  Larry adored his grandchildren, they were his pride and joy.   

Larry is survived by his loving and devoted wife Emily McCoy of 31 years; son Daniel McCoy of Quispamsis; daughter Krista McCoy of Sackville, NB; brothers Robert McCoy of Saint John and Donald Sweetzir of USA; sisters Joan Hughes of Hampton, NB and Sandra Gray of Waterloo, ON; grandchildren Shaunna (Mario), Marcy, Rachel, Michaella (Bryan), Lucas and Cassandra; great grandchildren Wyatt, Taliyah, Hilary, Maria and Avery; as well as several nieces, nephews and friends.  Besides his parents, Larry was predeceased by his brother Gerald McCoy, sister Donna Leard and sister-in-law Nancy McCoy.

Arrangements are under the direction of Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road (646-2424) with visitation being held at the Church of the Resurrection (20 MacDonald Ave. Grand Bay-Westfield) on Friday, December 7th from 10 till 11 a.m. A Memorial Service will begin at 11 a.m. Interment will take place at a later date.  Donations in memory of Larry may be made to the Church of the Resurrection.
