Larry Connell

It is with great sadness the family announces the passing of Arnold Lawrence “Larry” Connell which occurred at the Saint John Regional Hospital on Thursday, May 9th, 2019.  Born 1932, in Saint John, he was the son of the late William and Edna (Burley) Connell.  In his earlier years, Larry worked at Joyce’s Grocery Store as a butcher.  He served as Military Police with the Canadian Armed Forces for 25 years and did 3 peacekeeping tours up until retirement in 1982.

Larry is survived by his loving and devoted wife Hazel (Saunders) of 65 years; son Paul Connell (Louise) of Saint John; daughter Kathy Connell of Saint John; grandchildren Matthew, Trevor, Mark, Michael, and Amanda; great grandchildren Emma, Haley and Madelyn; as well as several nieces, nephews and friends.  Besides his parents, Larry was predeceased by his son Peter and brother Donald. 

Arrangements are under the direction of Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road (646-2424).  Visitation will be held on Monday, May 13th from 12 to 2 p.m. followed by a service in the chapel at 2 p.m.  Interment will take place at Ocean View Memorial Gardens.  Donations in memory of Larry may be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation of New Brunswick, St. Luke’s Anglican Church or to the charity of the donor’s choice.
