Kenneth Herbert Roach

It is with broken hearts and sadness the family of Kenneth Herbert Roach announce his passing which occurred on Wednesday, January 15, 2020 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Ken was born the son of the late Rev. Reginald and Marie (MacKenzie) Roach in New Glasgow, N. S. on October 23, 1928.  He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend to all. He retired from Irving Canaport in 1992 as an operator and in retirement enjoyed his cottage at Crafts Cove that he and Ethel built together, trips to Florida, and singing tenor in the Silver Falls United church choir and with the Men of Fundy Barbershop Chorus.  Ken also took much pride in following his son Terry and two grandsons, Jason and Darren, compete in golf and curling which brought him much joy!

Ken is survived by his loving wife of 27 years, Ethel (Bustin-Noftell) Roach; son Terry (Cheryl) Quispamsis, daughter Heather Lewis (Dale), Cincinnati, OH, 3 grandchildren Shannon of Calgary, AB, Jason (Kristi) Rothesay and Darren (Fernanda) Saint John, 4 step children Elsa Frauley (Daryl Watson) Saint John, Kenneth Noftell (Sandra) Rusagonis, Ellen Emmerson (Vance) Moncton, Elaine Richard (Kenneth Clifford) Saint John, 10 step grandchildren; Erin Peacock (Andrew) Hampton, Melissa Johnston (Neil) Nauwigewauk, Sarah Frauley (Cory Mullin) Salt Springs, Sarah Noftell (Amanda Spragg) Toronto, ON, Jennifer Nason (Kory) New Maryland, Jeffery Emmerson (Jessica) Pine Glen, Kristen Blaise (Richard) Keswick, ON, Julie Emmerson, Fort Vermilion AB, Michael Richard, Saint John, Megan Richard (Ronnie Hooper) Saint John, 2 great grandsons and 11 step great grandchildren, many nieces, nephews and friends. Ken was the last surviving member of his immediate family. He was predeceased by his parents and his first wife Helen, sister Margaret (Taylor) and brother Fred.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road (646-2424) with visitation on Friday January 17th from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. Funeral service will be held from Silver Falls United Church on Saturday January 18th, 2020 at 11:00 am, followed by a reception.
