Obituary

It is with tremendous sadness and heavy hearts the family of Kayla Dawn Anderson announces her unexpected passing which occurred on Monday, April 29, 2019. Born in Saint John, NB on June 18, 1996 she was the loving daughter of Heather Anderson (Joel Glazer) and Robert Mortimer (Amy).

Kayla graduated from Harrison Trimble High School in Moncton in 2015. She was currently attending Memorial University in St. John’s, NL studying Civil Engineering. Kayla was known for her happy and generous personality, always giving of herself. She was adventurous and loved travelling.

In addition to her loving parents, she is survived by the love of her life Gatlin Jones; sisters Courtney Mortimer (Josh Stephenson) and Chloe Young; grandparents Linda Waycott, James Anderson, Robert Mortimer Sr. and David Rogers; aunts Melissa Anderson (Bobby Nickerson) and Jennifer Wilson (Ricky); her feline companion Baby; several cousins and many friends.  She was predeceased by her grandmother Patricia Lanteigne and step grandfather Myles Waycott.

Resting at Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road, Saint John (646-2424) with visitation on Friday, May 3 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Her funeral service will be held from Fundy Funeral Home Chapel on Saturday, May 4 at 2 p.m.  Remembrances in memory of Kayla may be made to the Animal Rescue SPCA.
