Kathleen Marnell Vey

 It is with sadness the family announce the passing of their mother Kathleen Vey, who passed away surrounded by her loving family on June 4, 2019 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born in Saint John February 22 of 1938 she was the daughter of the late Mabel Sweet and Alord Vautour.  Kathleen was a devoted mother, grandmother, sister aunt and friend. In her earlier days when raising her family she worked for Willet Fruit as a packer, as well as Sobeys, Barbour’s in Sussex and in the office for the Dry Docks in Saint John. She was a lifetime member of the Royal Canadian Legion #53 Ladies Auxiliary. Kathleen will be missed by all those who knew and loved her. She is survived by her children Penny Hawboldt (George) of Saint John, Julie Rose (Harry) of Labrador City, NL, Joe Vautour (Janice) of Clarendon, Mary Pinkney, Larry Vautour and Christopher  Vautour (Belinda) all of Saint John; step- children Ronald, Tom, Bill, Peter, Kenny and Laura; brother Raymond Sweet; several grandchildren; great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and friends. Along with her parents; Kathleen was predeceased by her husband Ronald Vey in 2005 and her grandson Terry Vautour in 2010.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road (646-2424) By request there will be no visitation. Memorial service will be held from the Fundy Funeral Home Chapel on Friday June 7, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. Interment to follow at Fernhill Cemetery.
