Judi Petrie

It is with great sadness the family announces the passing of Mary Julia “Judi” Petrie which occurred at the Saint John Regional Hospital on Tuesday November 5, 2019.  Born March 28, 1954, in Glace Bay, NS, she was the daughter of the late Aubrey Francis and Sarah Christina (Hall) Hill.  Judi worked as a PSW at St. John St. Stephen Nursing Home.

Judi is survived by her loving and devoted husband Richard “Rick”; son Steven Petrie (Anne-Louise) of Hampton; step-daughters Shelly Belding (Jason) of Saint John, Jennifer Belding (Brent) and Nicole Garnett (Roy) both of Quispamsis; sister Catherine "Cathy" Hill (Walter) of Glace Bay, NS; grandchildren Emma, Wade, Luke, Gabriella, Olivia, Kohlby, Nevaeh, Alyssa, Kayley and Madelyn; aunt Mary Catherine “Cady” McKee; nephew and niece David an Melanie Denny. Judi adored her canine companion, Sam.

Besides her parents, Judi was predeceased by her brother Aubrey Jr.

Arrangements are under the direction of Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road (646-2424) with visitation being held on Thursday November 7, 2019 from 4-8 p.m. A Memorial Service will take place at the Fundy Funeral Home chapel on Friday November 8, 2019 at 11 a.m. followed by an interment at St. Joseph’s Cemetery.  Donations in memory of Judi may be made to Sophia Recovery Center.
