John "Jack" Harold Chown

The death of John Harold “Jack” Chown, 81, of Saint John, occurred on August 27, 2018 at the Saint John Regional Hospital.  Jack was the son of the late Kathleen (Allen) and Harold Chown.

Jack was employed as a carpenter for many years and when he retired he continued his wood working, making light houses and wishing wells for his family. 

Jack is survived by his partner of 35 years, Joan Crouse.  He is also survived by his six children and two step children, three sisters; Eleanor Cobbett ( Frank), Margaret O’Blenis (late Michael) and Debbie Stewart (Stephen).  He was predeceased by his three brothers; Douglas, Bill and Garry Chown and one sister; Kay Crawford. 

Arrangements are under the care of the Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road (646-2424).  Honoring Jack’s wishes, there will be no visitation. Private family services will be held at a later date. Donations in Jack’s memory may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
