Joan Derry

It is with heavy hearts the family announces the passing of Joan Derry, loving wife of the late Robert Derry, that occurred on Monday March 6, 2017 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born 1934 in Saint John, she was the daughter of the late George and Helen (Collette) Davis. Joan was a very loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother who adored her grandchildren and cherished every moment spent with them. She enjoyed her daily trips to Tim Horton’s for coffee. Joan is survived by her daughter Catherine (Karen) Derry; grandchildren Robbie and Jasmine Derry; nieces and nephews Patsy Brennan, Sandra Davis, Dan Davis and Bill Davis. Beside her parents and husband she was predeceased by her brother Ernest Davis and Mary “Lena” Svats Davis.

Arrangements are under the direction of Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road (646-2424). By request there will be no visitation. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at the Cathedral of Immaculate Conception on Thursday March 9, 2017 at 12:10 p.m. Interment will take place in St. Joseph’s Cemetery.  Please join the family after the service to continue celebrating Joan’s life by joining them for a coffee at the Hickey Road Tim Horton’s. Donations may be made to the Community Autism Centre or the NB Adoption Foundation.
