Jerry Barnett

It is with great sadness the family announces the passing of Gerald Alfred “Jerry” Barnett which occurred at the Saint John Regional Hospital on Sunday, August 6th, 2017.  Born 1954, in Sussex, NB, he was the son of the late John and Anna (Elms) Barnett.  Jerry worked as a cleaner at UNB Fredericton for several years.  He loved to play poker and watch his brother-in-law play softball.  He was a collector, an avid Toronto Maple Leafs fan and a master of one-liners.

Jerry is survived by his loving spouse Vicki Ough of 18 years; adopted son Stephen of Fredericton; brother John (Debbie) of Quispamsis; sister Kimberley Guimond (Louis) of Saint John; puppies Kobe and Piper; as well as several nieces, nephews and friends.

A special thank you to the nurses on 5A South, Oncology Department, for their outstanding care.

Arrangements are under the direction of Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road (646-2424).  As per the family’s wishes, there will be no visitation.  A Memorial Service will take place from the Fundy Funeral Home chapel on Thursday, August 10th at 2 p.m.  Interment will be held at a later date. Living Memorial donations would be appreciated by the family.
