Jane Laura Richard

It is with great sadness the family of Jane Laura Richard announce her passing which occurred at the Saint John Regional Hospital on Wednesday October 17, 2018. Born in Saint John, December of 1952, she was the daughter of the late John Robert and Betty (Fillmore) Martin. Jane was a loving and devoted mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. In her earlier years she taught Sunday school first at St. Ann’s then moving to Glen Falls School to accommodate the large class. Jane worked for Guildford’s for 24 years working in sales and administration. In her spare time she worked with Girl Guides and Brownies and enjoyed bowling with “The Foxy Ladies”. Jane was well known for birthday calls and singing “Happy Birthday” she never missed a birthday. Family was so important to Jane; those who knew and loved her will miss her forever. Jane is survived by her son Troy Richard (Heather), daughter April Winter (Scott), precious grandchildren Brandon, Alexander, Devon, Logan and Ally;  cherished greatgrandchild Chloe; brothers Bobby Martin, Mark Martin and Dana Martin; sister Joan Allen; step-mother Loretta Martin and her children Claudia Sommerville and Phillip Sommerville; aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces , nephews and friends. Along with her parents, Jane was predeceased by her husband Renaud Richard in 1993; her brother Adrian Martin, sister June Martin and special mother-in-law Jackie Richard.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road (646-2424). A funeral mass will be celebrated at St. Ann’s Church, 135 Simpson Drive on Monday October 22, 2018 at 11:00  a.m. Private interment at Ocean View Memorial Gardens at a later date.
