James Hartford Hennessy

Surrounded by loved ones James “Jim” Hartford Hennessy born in Irishtown, NB to the late Harold and Vivian;  passed away at the Saint John Regional Hospital on Saturday November 10, 2018.  James is survived by his wife of 56 years, Rita (Russell) Hennessy; daughters Jocelyn (Robbie), Jennifer (Henry) and Jacqueline; son James (Kim); loving grandchildren Jessica, Elizabeth, Jacob, Tina, Chris (Kim) and Jason; precious great-grandchildren Zachary, Ashden, Cody, Hayden and Alissah; brothers Frank (Rachel) and Lloyd; sister Anne (Harrison) all of Moncton; sister-in-law Miriam (Bill); many cousins, nieces and nephews.

James was a welder by profession and worked for Ocean Steel (OSCO) in Saint John for 41 years. He loved to travel and enjoyed the simple and important things in life which included spending time with family, carpentry, reading a good book, perfecting his garden and ensuring his wife Rita and family were well taken care of.

The family would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to Dr. Le, Dr. Hemmings and the entire staff of the Dialysis and Palliative Care Units at the Saint John Regional Hospital for their unbelievable care of treating James with the professionalism that makes you the best in your fields.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road (646-2424) Visitation will be held on Wednesday November 14, 2018 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated from Holy Redeemer Parish, 316 Somerset Street on Thursday November 15th, 2018 at 12:00 noon. Interment to follow at Holy Cross Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in James’s memory can be made to Dialysis Unit or to the Palliative Care Unit of the Saint John Regional Hospital.
