It is with great sadness the family of Howie Mackenzie announce his passing which occurred peacefully at the Loch Lomond Village on Thursday, June 14, 2018. Born in Truro, NS he was the son of the late Dorothy Lois and Ernest Howard Mackenzie. Howie worked as a Dispatcher for the City of Moncton for many years, retiring in 2000. He was active in coaching baseball and hockey and became a member of the executive committee for Baseball New Brunswick.
Howie is survived by his loving and devoted wife Irene (Jewett) Mackenzie of Saint John; son Timmy Mackenzie (Tina) of Montreal, PQ; step-son Wayne Comeau (Tammy) of Dartmouth, NS; brother Charles Mackenzie (Diane) of Truro, NS; and two grandchildren Niecole (Matt) and Kyle; niece Cheryl and nephew Bryan and friends.
A gathering of friends and a Celebration of Howie’s Life will be held at the Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road (646-2424) on Tuesday, June 19, 2018 from 3:00 - 4:00 p.m. Donations in Howie’s memory can be made to the Diabetes Association, Heart and Stroke Foundation of New Brunswick or to the Loch Lomond Village Foundation.
