Hilda Marie (Clark) Watson

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of Hilda Marie (Clark) Watson at the Church of St. John & St. Stephen Nursing Home on June 6, 2019.   Hilda was born on October 29, 1939 to the late Albert and Greta (Fairweather) Clark and was the loving spouse to her late husband, Charles Watson. 

Hilda worked in Payroll for over 35 years with Irving in Saint John as her main profession; however, later on she discovered how much she liked to volunteer.  Whether it was acting as Secretary/Treasurer for the Saint John Senior’s Center helping the clients with their taxes each year, or leading the volunteer organization with Fundy Cable and Rogers in broadcasting, she always remained active.  She hosted a variety of shows with different guests each week for over 10 years.  She was a very ladylike person who took great pride in always making sure she looked just so - from her hair to her nails to her perfume – she always looked very put together.  She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend and she will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her. 

She is survived by son, Brien M. Watson (Shirley Cyr); daughter, Margaret Coté (Meril); grandsons, René and Chris (Laura Watson); and great grandchildren, Monica, Katherine, Amanda, Brandon, Caitlyn, Gabrielle and Bionca; great-great granddaughters, Chloe and Addisyn; two brothers, as well as several nieces, nephews, and cousins. 

In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by her granddaughter Heather Coté and several brothers and sisters. 

Arrangements are entrusted to Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road (646-2424).  In keeping with Hilda’s wishes, no visitation or funeral service will be held.  A private family interment will take place at Ocean View Memorial Gardens at a later date.  The family would like any donations to be made to the Arthritis Society or to the charity of the donor’s choice.
