Helen Grace Doreen MacLeod

 It is with great sadness the family announce the death of Helen Grace Doreen MacLeod,who passed away with her family at her side at Bobby’s Hospice on Wednesday August 2, 2017. Born in Markimville, NB on June 12, 1938; she was the daughter of the late Robert and Sarah (Allen) McFarlane. Helen worked for Lantic Sugar Refinery as a machine operator. She worked for over 40 years until the very day they closed in 2000. Helen enjoyed gardening, baking and bowling for many years. She bowled with the King Pins and in many Alpine tournaments. Both her and her late husband Willard enjoyed camping and coffee with family and friends. Helen is survived by her son David Dyer (Alice) of Calgary, AB; daughter Sharon “Sheri” MacLeod (Reg) of Saint John and son Michael Cusack (Lori) of Sussex; brothers Leon (Reta) of Waterford and Raymond (Jane) of Sussex; sister Lois Esmond (Dennis) of New Westminster, BC; grandchildren Jessica MacLeod-Duffield (Chris), Tiffany Sarchfield (Tyler), Terra-Lee Cusack (Rob) and Alex Cusack (Jenn); great-granchildren Avery, Delaney and Cole; canine grandson Oscar and feline great-grandson Harrycat; several nieces, nephews and friends. Along with her parents, Helen was predeceased by her loving and devoted husband Willard S. MacLeod; brothers Milford, Stewart and John and sisters Greta Adair, Viviven Snyder, Ruby McFarlane and Marguerite Keyes.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road (646-2424) with visitation on Saturday August 5th from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. Celebration of Helen’s Life will be held from the Fundy Funeral Home Chapel on Sunday August 6th at 1:00 p.m., followed by a reception. Private family burial will be held at Ocean View Memorial Gardens at a later date. Donations in Helen’s memory can be made to Bobby’s Hospice or the New Brunswick Heart and Stroke Foundation.

The family of Helen MacLeod would like to take this opportunity to give a special praise and thanks to Dr. Joanne Fellows, Dr. Cassie and Dr. Reiman. Special thanks to the Doctors, Nurses and Staff of Extramural and to all the Angels of Bobby’s Hospice.
