Helen Coholan

It is with broken hearts that the family announces the passing of Mary Ramona “Helen” Coholan which occurred at her home on Saturday, May 18th, 2019.  Born 1935, in Saint John, she was the daughter of the late Alex and Genevieve (Noel) Hachey.  Helen was dedicated to the Catholic Church and strong in her Faith.  She was very generous and always helping out someone in need.  Family was most important to her and she never forgot a birthday or special occasion.  Helen wouldn’t want you to mourn.  She would want you to celebrate her going home to her Lord and Saviour. 

Helen is survived by her children Mary-Frances Boudreau (Ronald) of Chilliwack, BC, Greg Coholan (Heather) of Hubbards, NS, Anna “Cookie” McCarty (Denis) of Saint John, Lois Roy (Ernie) of Grove Hill, NB, Allan Hudson (Gloria) of Moncton, NB; siblings Jeremy, Patrick, Charles, George, Gerard, Levi, David, Juliette, Elizabeth, Geralda, Mary, Linda, Sheila; grandchildren Dianne, Danny, Genny, Hayley, Jaidyn, Khyla, Becky, Gordie; great grandchildren Samantha, Katie, Ethan, Eric and Ivy; as well as several nieces, nephews and friends.  Besides her parents, Helen was predeceased by her husband Vincent and siblings Leo, Richard, Clovis and Doreen. 
 

Arrangements are under the direction of Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road (646-2424) with visitation being held on Thursday, May 23rd from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m.  A Mass of Christian Burial will take place from St. Joseph’s Catholic Church (4347 Loch Lomond Road) on Friday, May 24th at 12 noon followed by an interment at St. Joseph’s Cemetery.  Donations in memory of Helen may be made to St. Vincent De Paul Society (146 Waterloo Street) or to the charity of the donor’s choice.
