Hector Joseph LeBlanc

July 26, 1924 ~ November 1, 2017 (age 93) 93 Years Old

It is with heavy hearts the family of Hector Joseph LeBlanc, loving husband of the late Madeleine (Poirier) LeBlanc, announces his peaceful passing on Wednesday November 1, 2017 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born 1924 in Bouctouche, NB, he was the son of the late Alyre and Henriette (Pellerin) LeBlanc. In his earlier years Hector was a co-owner of LeBlanc Fuel and also worked for McAvity’s. Following that, he was employed with Standard Paving as a truck driver, retiring in 1988. Hector was a faithful member of the Assumption Church and also a member of the Knights of Columbus # 9029.

He is survived by his two sons Raymond (Debbie) and Michael (Mona) both of Saint John; daughters Lucia (George) Chaisson of St. Norbert, Shirley (Patrick) Shannon of Rothesay, Linda (James) Eagles and Martha (Harold) Peddle both of Saint John, Diane (Blair) Skeldon of Grand Bay-Westfield; brothers Albert of Bouctouche, Norman of Rothesay and Donald of Saint John; sisters Noella Cormier, Georgina LeBlanc and Clara Hobbs all of Saint John, Dorina Boucher of Musquash and Oriza McGraw of Leominster, MASS; 21 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild; his friend Carol; several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents and wife, he was predeceased by his son Roger LeBlanc, daughter Nancy Cormier, brothers Yvon and Norman and sisters Lucina Osmon and Dora McGraw.

To Dr. Chris O’Brien and the staff of palliative care, SJRH – we wish to extend our heartfelt gratitude to you for the wonderful compassion and care shown to Hector and our family.

Resting at Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road (646-2424) on Saturday November 4th and Sunday November 5th from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated from Our Lady of Assumption Church on Monday November 6, 2017 at 12 Noon. Interment will follow in Holy Cross Cemetery. The family would appreciate donations to Bobby’s Hospice, SJRH Palliative Care, West Side Food Bank or the charity of one’s choice.
