With heavy hearts, the family of Hazel Arsenault announces her passing, which occurred at St. Joseph’s Hospital on August 7th, 2018. Hazel was born in Saint John on September 1st, 1921; a daughter of the late Joseph and Elizabeth (Arsenault) Thibideau, and the loving wife of the late Joseph Albert Arsenault. An avid bowler, Hazel bowled for more than 20 years in various leagues, including the “Recycled Teenagers”, and her last team, the “Golden Oldies.” She had the pleasure of travelling all over the US and the Maritimes. She was a life-long parishioner of Holy Trinity Church, and a member of the CWL.
Hazel is survived by her sons Bob (Lois) Arsenault and David (Julie Daigle) Arsenault, daughter Mary Phillips, grandchildren Lisa, Sherrie, Angela, Mark, Michael, Gregory, and Katie, 10 great-grandchildren, as well as several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Along with her parents, Hazel was pre-deceased by her son, Clifford “Kippy”, and a brother, Fred.
Arrangements are under the care and direction of Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road, Saint John (646-2424). Although there is no visitation, family and friends are invited to attend the Funeral Mass, which will be celebrated from Holy Trinity Catholic Church on Monday at 10:00 a.m. Interment will take place at St. Joseph’s Cemetery. For those who wish, remembrances to St. Matthew's Catholic Church, or the Saint John SPCA - Animal Rescue would be appreciated.
