It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Hartley William Marino at the Saint John Regional Hospital on May 19th, 2018, with his family by his side. Hartley was born in Saint John on July 7th, 1931; a son of the late Joseph and Alma (Lavigne) Marino, and the loving husband of Jean (Snodgrass) Marino. Hartley retired from a long career with NB Liquor in 1989. In addition to his wife Jean, Hartley is survived by his daughter Cecilia, son Daniel (Kristine) and their children Michael (Laura), Christopher (Serena), Ryan, Jonathan and Thomas; son John (Denise) and their daughter Megan, his loyal dog Buddy, sister-in-law Betty Allan, brothers-in-law Bill (Connie) Snodgrass and Robert Snodgrass, along with several nieces and nephews. Along with his parents, Hartley was pre-deceased by his sister Marjorie Butts, and brothers Phil, Harold, James, and Anthony. He was the last surviving member of his immediate family. Hartley loved playing and watching sports, especially baseball. He was an avid fan of the Blue Jays; he was also a talented baseball player in his youth. The family wishes to extend special thanks to Dr. Bewick, Dr. Foster, Jane Aucoin at the Heart Function Clinic, and good friend Terry Blizzard. Resting at Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road, Saint John (646-2424) with a memorial service being held on Wednesday, May 23rd at 10:30 am from the Fundy Funeral Home Chapel, with visitation one hour prior to service time. Interment will take place at St. Joseph’s Cemetery. For those who wish, remembrances to Romero House or the Saint John SPCA-Animal Rescue would be appreciated by the family.
