George R. Getchell

With sadness, we announce the passing of Mr. George Getchell, loving husband of Lucy (Tonge) on June 23rd , 2018 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. He was born May 11, 1926 in Erb Settlement, NB to the late Raymond and Muriel (Burgess) Getchell.

George spent the majority of his working career with the Kimberly Clark Tissue Mill having retired in 1991.

George is survived by his loving wife Lucy, children Raymond (Cindy) Getchell and Nancy (Mark) Conway, brother Lloyd (Diane)  and sisters; Joyce Nevad, Phyllis (Vose) Armstrong, Margaret (Arthur) MacKay, Jean (Dave) Chamberlain.  He will be forever missed by his grandchildren; Kyle (Keneisha), Kody, Kory, P-Jay, Trevor and Michaela, great grandchildren, Landon Quin, Amoya McBean, Kendrick and Carlene Getchell also numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, George is predeceased by his sister Dorothy LeBlanc.

George’s family invites family and friends to attend an hour of visitation beginning at 1:00 PM on Thursday, June 28th at the Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road (646-2424) followed by the memorial service at 2:00 PM in the chapel.
