Frederick Lawrence Allen

September 27, 1926 – September 6, 2019

Fred passed away on Friday, September 6, 2019 at Bobby’s Hospice after a courageous battle with cancer. Fred leaves behind his wife Mary Shanklin and three stepchildren, Amy, Leslie and Jonathan Rome; 2 grandchildren, Rachel and Toby Nagata; his brothers Donald (Nancy), Edward {Linda) and sisters Gwendolyn Farhnam, Eloise Costello and Marsha (Nick) Mihalu; as well as many nieces and nephews.  Fred was predeceased by his parents Clarence and Grace (Duplisea) Allen and brothers Douglas, Kenneth, Maylan and Darrell.

Fred graduated from Saint John Vocational School and worked in telecommunications for CP. Fred was an avid golfer playing at Westfield for 50 + years. Fred loved playing pool, bowling and never turned down a good game of crib.

He and Mary enjoyed many trips to Key West, Boston, Seattle, California, England and Scotland.

There will be no visitation or service. Remembrances may be made to Bobby’s Hospice whose staff and army of volunteers raises the bar of compassion and caring to new heights.
