Frances Nice

It is with love and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Mary Frances (McDougall) Nice, which occurred at Bobby’s Hospice on June 5th, 2017.  Born July 8th, 1947, in Saint John, she was the daughter of the late Alfred and Kathleen McDougall.  Fran was an avid golfer and spent many days on the golf course.  She was a grandmother who enjoyed watching her grandchildren play sports, from football to hockey; they were the light of her life.  Fran worked the toll bridge for many years making lasting friendships.  She held her faith close to her and spent many Sundays in the Lord’s presence, singing hymns and catching up with friends.  Fran brought light into everyone’s life.  She will be sorely missed and forever in our hearts. 

Fran is survived by her loving husband Fred Nice of 28 years; sons John (Sherry) and their children Justys and Kaelyn; Todd (Michelle) and their children Blake (Brandi) and Kayla; daughter Jody (Shane) and their children Isaiah and Taylor; sister Donna Donner (Nelson); nephew Shane in Medicine Hat, AB; numerous nieces and nephews.  Other family members include Billy Nice (Carol), Frank Nice (Sharon), Joan Bradley-Meating (Robert) (Kenny) and Verna Hooper (Harvey).

Arrangements are under the direction of Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road (646-2424).  As per Fran’s wishes, there will be no visitation or funeral service.  A private interment will take place at a later date.  Frances passed her final days at Bobby’s Hospice and referred to the many wonderful staff, doctors, and volunteers as her angels.  For those who wish to make a donation in Fran’s memory, please donate to Bobby’s Hospice to support the institution to give families the same privilege that Fran’s family had, or to the charity of the donor’s choice.
