Florence Theresa (Hannah) McLaughlin

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of Florence Theresa (Hannah) McLaughlin, surrounded by her loving family, at Loch Lomond Village on May 14, 2019.   Florence was born on August 11, 1928 to the late Leo and Edna (McCann) Hannah and was the loving spouse to her late husband, Arthur McLaughlin.

Florence worked as an Office Clerk with SMT for about 10 years before leaving to raise a family.  She liked to garden and tend to her plants, and watch the hummingbirds feed in her yard.  She enjoyed cooking and her family and friends will fondly remember all of those wonderful Sunday Suppers she would host.  Florence loved spending time with her family and she will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.   

She is survived by her sons; Danny (Anne Marie), Donald, and Patrick (Denise) McLaughlin, daughters; Cathy McLaughlin and Jacqueline (Dan) McPhee, 7 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren, as well as brothers James and Joseph (Eileen) Hannah, sister Patricia Hannah and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. 

In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by her sister Leona Hannah.    

Florence’s family would like to give special thanks to the Staff of Loch Lomond Village for their care and compassion given to her during her time on Maple House, and to her friend Elsa who was always by her side during the last of her living days.

Arrangements are entrusted to Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road (646-2424) where visitation will be held on Friday from 4-8pm.  A Funeral Service will be held from the Fundy Funeral Home Chapel on Saturday, May 18, 2019 at 2pm with interment to follow in St. Joseph’s Cemetery.  The family would like any donations to be made to the H.O.P.E Center or to the charity of the donor’s choice.
