Eric "Red" Lamont

With deepest regrets we announce the peaceful passing of Eric Leigh “Red” Lamont on December 28, 2017 at Rocmaura Nursing Home.  Red was born in Wirral, NB on March 27, 1930 to the late Thomas and Nan Lamont and was the loving husband of Barbara (Rossley) Lamont.

Red worked as a longshoreman mostly but he also worked for construction companies as a Heavy Equipment Operator.  He was an avid outdoorsman who loved to hunt and fish.  To his dear Barbara and friends he was know as “Red,” he held proud titles as “Grampy” and “Papa” and although his battle is done and he isn’t struggling anymore, he will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

He is survived by his loving wife Barbara, children; Tom (Sherry), Nancy (Robert), Ricky, Don “Duck”, Debbie and Pam (Morris), 12 grandchildren, several great grandchildren, brothers George (Frances) and Ian (Jean), as well as several nieces, nephews and friends.  Along with his parents, he was predeceased by his son in infancy Robert, brother Wallace, and sisters Sylvia Hall, Laureen Shonaman and Alexis Hart.

Arrangements are entrusted to Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road (646-2424) where visitation will be held on Wednesday from 2-4 and 6-8pm.  A funeral service will be held from the former St. Joachim’s Parish on Thursday, January 4, 2018 at 10am with interment to follow in Ocean View Memorial Gardens.  In lieu of flowers,  memorial donations made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, Rocmaura Nursing Home or to the charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated by his family.   To express condolences or light a virtual candle, please visit www.fundyfuneralhome.com
