Emma Mary (Fournier) Thomas

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Emma Mary (Fournier) Thomas peacefully at the Saint John Regional Hospital on March 3, 2019 with her loving family by her side.  She was born in Tracadie, NB on July 5, 1936 to the late Theodore and Esilda Fournier and was the devoted wife to her late husband John Thomas.

Emma worked as a Nurse’s Aide with Loch Lomond Villa for many years, retiring in 1996.  She really enjoyed her career and her ability to help people.  Emma was a very faithful person and was a long time parishioner of Stella Maris Catholic Church.  She will be greatly missed by her children; Gordon (Katheleen) and Darren, as well as her 8 siblings; Luc (Jacqueline), Sandy (Annette), and Aquila (Rita) Fournier, Josephine (Richard) Vacon, Sina (Raymond) Birt, Gertrude (Arthur) Doiron, Noella Losier and Murielle Fournier, sister-in-law Shirley Wright, along with several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. 

In addition to her husband John and her parents, she was predeceased by her brother Hedard and her brother-in-law Donald Losier. 

Arrangements are entrusted to Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road (646-2424) where visitation will be held on Thursday, March 7, 2019 from 1-3pm with a funeral service immediately following at 3pm in the Fundy Funeral Home Chapel.  Interment will take place in St. Joseph’s Cemetery at a later date.  Memorial donations in her memory to the Heart & Stroke Foundation of New Brunswick or to the charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated by her family.
