Emerise "Emily" Marie (Despres) Tracey

It is with broken hearts and sadness the family of Emily Tracey announce her passing which occurred at Shannex Embassy Hall on Tuesday August 27, 2019. Born in Rogersville on May 20, 1929, she was the daughter of the late Aubain and Anna (Arsenault) Després. Emily was a loving and devoted wife, mother, nanny, great nanny, sister, aunt and friend. She was an avid reader and a talented gardener and cook. Her grandchildren will miss her ginger snaps and molasses cookies.  Emily and her husband Bill were members of the St. Mark’s Catholic Church from when it first opened in the 70’s. Those who knew and loved her, will miss her forever. Emily is survived by her children Paul Tracey (Cynthia), Mary Frances Daley (Brian) and Catherine McLaughlin (Steven) all of Quispamsis; loving grandchildren Shannon Daley, Joshua Tracey, Timothy Daley, Heather Tracey, Michael McLaughlin, Robert McLaughlin, Jaime Riley and Ryan McLaughlin; seven precious great-grandchildren; sisters Alice Ouelette  and  Aline Gaudet both of Saint John; Thérèse Marchand of Halifax, NS and Jeanne d’Arc MacDonald (Donald) of Moncton; several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Along with her parents, Emily was predeceased by her husband William Tracey in 2009 and sisters Germaine Benoit and Aldona Gautreau.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road (646-2424) with visitation on Thursday August 29, 2019 from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated from St. Marks Catholic Church (171 Pettingill Rd, Quispamsis) on Friday August 30th at 11:00 a.m. Interment to follow at St. Joseph’s Cemetery. Donations in Emily’s memory can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or to St. Mark’s Building Fund.

The family would like to thank the Staff of Embassy Hall for the care and kindness shown to our Mother and family during the last four years.  Your compassion will never be forgotten.
