Elva Dorothy Arseneau passed away peacefully on Wednesday, December 5, 2019 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born in Queens Count, NB on February 24, 1943 she was the daughter of the late Edward and Greta (Parlee) Hovey. In addition to her parents she was predeceased by her husband David Gregory Arseneau; brothers Percy Greenslade and Berton Greenslade; sister Lucy MacKenzie; brothers-in-law Ronald Myers and David Drake; and sister-in-law Bertha Beyea.
Elva had fun playing Aunt Minnie for 30 years, she was always there for her family and friends.
She is survived by son David Arseneau (Phyllis); daughter Shelley Kay (Dwayne); cherished grandchildren Odessa (Jason), Amy (Ryan), Aaron, April (Brendan), McKayla (Dan), Wesley and Cody; great grandchildren Madison, Aiden, Conner and Lila; brother Herman Hovey (Ann); sister Vera (Myers) Drake; several cousins, nieces and nephews.
Resting at Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road, Saint John (646-2424) with visitation on Sunday, December 8, 2019 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 pm. Her funeral service will be held from Outreach Pentecostal Church, 2129 Route 124, (Hatfield Point) Springfield, NB on Monday, December 9, 2019 at 1 pm. Interment will take place in Bayview Cemetery. Remembrances in memory of Elva may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or to the charity of the donor’s choice.
