Edward Elmore Groundwater Obituary

It is with sadness the family of Edward Groundwater of Hampton, announce his passing which occurred surrounded by his loving family at the Saint John Regional Hospital on Thursday May 16, 2019. Born in Saint John on August 3, 1945 he was the son of the late Benjamin and Hazel (Anderson) Groundwater. Ed had many occupations over the years from school bus driver to working in construction and later retired from driving transport truck with Brookville.  He loved spending time with his family especially his grandchildren and enjoyed summers at the trailer, going for long country drives and talking with the many friends he met in the KV and surrounding areas. Ed took great pride in keeping a freshly mowed lawn at his home in Hampton and the large field at the trailer. He enjoyed his nightly sweets and loved a good banana split, but there was nothing he loved more than being with his love Barb. He will be greatly missed by all of his family and everyone who knew him.

Ed is survived by his loving wife of over 35 years Barbara (Chambers) Groundwater; brothers Robert and Reginald and sisters Joan and Doris; children Terri, Tracey (Cindy), Eddy (Buffy), Andrew (Michelle), Robert (Jennifer) and Steven (Jennifer); grandchildren Kellie, Steven, Kimber, Samantha, Cody, Madison, Kaitlyn, Jocelyn, Gabriel and Emily and chosen grandchildren Laura, Alex and Dominic; several great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and friends; canine companion Daisy May.  Along with his parents Ed was predeceased by his brother-in-law Art Lewis and canine companion Jag.
