Edna Evelyn Garvin

 It is with great sorrow and sadness that our family is announcing the passing of our mother Edna Garvin, who passed away peacefully at Kingsway Care Centre on Thursday May 3rd 2018. Born in Saint John December of 1931, she was the only girl of 9 children to the late Frank and Kathleen (Garnet) Silliphant. Edna was predeceased by her husband James in March of 2017. Both Edna and James had a wonderful marriage of 66 years, they raised their 3 children and thoroughly enjoyed their grandchildren and great-grandchildren.  Edna is survived and will be missed by her sons Larry (Wendy) of Saint John and Norman (Janet) of Quispamsis; daughter Linda McLaughlin (Joe) of Springfield; grandchildren Shelley Michaud (Shane), Robbie (Kristy), Nick Brooks (Venessa), Michelle Oliver (John), Kristen Gass (Mitchell); honorary grandchildren Scott and Stephen Dalling; great-grandchildren Quinn, Zac, Layla, Charliee-Lynn, Nolan, Braedon, Kaelan, Amber, Lyla, Hazen, Gage and Cadence; brothers Harry (Betty), Kenneth (Valerie) and Andy all of Ontario; as well as several nieces, nephews and friends.  Along with her parents and her husband James, Edna was predeceased by her daughter-in-law Linda Garvin.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road with visitation and service to be held from the Fundy Funeral Home on Wednesday May 9, 2018. Visitation will begin at 12:00 p.m. and service to begin at 1:00 p.m. Interment to follow at Ocean View Memorial Gardens. Donations in Edna’s memory can be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.
