Edna Marie (Losier) Babineau

With her loving family at her side, Edna Marie Babineau passed away peacefully on Monday, August 6, 2018 at Bobby’s Hospice. Born in Tracadie, NB on July 21, 1939 she was the daughter of the late Hilaire and Emilie (Bulger) Losier. In addition to her parents she was predeceased by her husband and friend William D. Babineau; sisters Colette McGraw and Thelma Robichaud.

Edna worked as a custodian for the school board for many years. She canvassed for the Heart and Stroke Foundation, was an avid bowler with the Thursday Morning Women’s and the Tuesday evening leagues. She enjoyed camping at Pirates Cove, and loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.

She is survived by her spouse Fred Holland; her sons Bill Babineau (Judy) of Quispamsis, Valmond Babineau of Saint John and Sean Babineau (Riann) of Moncton; daughters Marilyn Dikens (Joe) of Saint John, Katherine Humphries (Sterling) of Fort McMurray, Karen Deuville of Saint John and Michelle Walsh (Tim) of Upper Golden Grove; cherished grandchildren Candace, Ricky, Brian, Courtney, Tyler, Taylor, Stephanie, Tanner, Ashley, Emmaline and Avery; great grandchildren Alexa, Roslyn and Lincoln; brothers Leonard Losier of Ontario, Valmond Losier of Montreal, Normand Losier (Claudette) of Tracadie, Roger  Losier of  Quebec and Majella Losier of Ontario; sisters Mona Brideau (Donald) of Tracadie and Jacqueline Duguay (Antonio) of Ontario; many nieces and nephews.

Resting at Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road, Saint John (646-2424) on Thursday, August 9 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated from St. Ann’s Church, 135 Simpson Drive, Saint John on Friday, August 10, 2018 at 10 a.m. Interment will take place in St. Joseph’s Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, remembrances in memory of Edna may be made to Bobby’s Hospice.

The family would like to thank the staff and volunteers at Bobby’s Hospice for their compassion and kindness, as well as Dr. Wood for her excellent care of our mom.
