Edmee M. Brideau

It is with great sadness the family announces the passing of Edmee Mary (Casey) Brideau which occurred at Rocmaura Nursing Home on Sunday, September 2nd, 2018.  Born 1930, in Saint John, she was the daughter of the late Gilbert and Philemon (Goguen) Casey and wife to the late John Brideau for over 50 years.  In her younger years, Edmee was a homemaker and a housekeeper.  She was also a breast cancer survivor. 

Edmee is survived by her sons William Brideau (Bernice) of Saint John, Gilbert Brideau of Saint John, Richard Brideau (Angie) of St. George, Eric Brideau (Patricia) of Norton; daughters Joyce Brideau, Shirley Rogers, Linda Hughes, Nancy Robichaud (John) all of Saint John; brother Norman Casey (Eleanor) of Saint John; sisters Yvonne Nordstrom of St. Stephen, Eva Stevens of Toronto; 15 grandchildren; 24 great grandchildren; as well as several nieces, nephews and friends.  Besides her parents and her husband, Edmee was predeceased by her daughter Edna Brideau, sisters Theresa Earle, Mary Leblanc, Edith Leblanc, daughter-in-law Kathy Brideau, sons-in-law William Rogers and Joe Goldie and brother-in-law Sonny Nordstrom.

Arrangements are under the direction of Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road (646-2424).  As per Edmee’s wishes, there will be no visitation.  A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at Holy Redeemer Parish (316 Somerset St.) on Friday, September 7th, 2018 at 1 p.m.  Interment will be held at St. Joseph’s Cemetery at a later date.  In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Edmee may be made to Breast Cancer Awareness, Alzheimer’s Society, or to the charity of the donor’s choice.
