Edgar J. Bourque

It is with immense sadness the family announces the passing of Edgar Joseph Bourque which occurred peacefully at his home on Sunday, January 5th, 2020 after a lengthy illness.  Born 1953, in Saint John, he was the son of the late Gerald and Doreen (Arsenault) Bourque.  Edgar was a Labourer with Union Local 900 for several years before retiring in 2015.  He enjoyed going up the hill to visit his 2 brothers-in-law Leroy and Brian.  Edgar loved going for drives in the country with Crystal, fishing at Henry Lake and camping.  He cherished every moment spent with his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren and especially loved teasing them, calling each one of them “George” at one time or another.  His family was his pride and joy, especially his wife Corrine. 

Edgar is survived by his loving and devoted wife Corrine (Rooney) of 47 years; son Rick Bourque (Roxanne) of Summerville, NB; daughters Sherry La Pierre. Nancy Fosmark (Dennis), April Bourque all of Saint John; brothers Gerald Bourque (Louise) of Rothesay, Mark Bourque (Freda) of Quispamsis; sisters Janice Dukeshire (LeRoy) of Saint John, Carol Carvell (Lenny) of Kingston, NB, Linda Myers (Raymond “Moe”) of Kingston, NB, Deborah Snodgrass (Donnie) of French Village, Diane McIntyre (Dan) of Saint John, Jean Bourque of Saint John, Cindy Furlong (Brian) of Saint John, Darlene McFarlane (Kenny) of Sussex, NB, Theresa Bourque (John) of Saint John,; grandchildren Matthew, Luke, Mikailyn, Ashlin, Michael, Amber, Chelsey, Jayden and Chloe; as well as many great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and friends.  Besides his parents, Edgar was predeceased by his daughter Crystal and brothers Wayne, Ronnie and Darrell.    

Arrangements are under the direction of Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road (646-2424) with visitation being held on Thursday, January 9th from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m.  A Memorial Service will take place from the Fundy Funeral Home chapel on Friday, January 10th at 2 p.m.  Interment will be held at a later date.  Donations in memory of Edgar may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or to the charity of the donor’s choice.
