It is with heavy hearts the family of Earl Eugene Hurlburt, husband of Carol (Hughes) Hurlburt, announces his unexpected passing which occurred on Monday, October 1, 2018. He was born in Yarmouth, NS on May 17, 1941.
In addition to his loving wife of 57 years, Carol, he is survived by his daughter Kathy Slader (Mark), son Rob Hurlburt; seven grandchildren and seven great grandchildren; brother-in-law Lorne Hughes (Louise) and their three daughters. He was predeceased by his parents and his daughter Kim.
Earl loved golfing, boating, hunting, fishing, playing cards and board games and spending time with his family. After retiring as an accountant for the Telegraph Journal he and Carol spent 18 wonderful winters in Bradenton, Florida. He also loved spending time at his summer home in Cambridge Narrows.
In keeping with Earl’s wishes there will be no visitation. A celebration of life will be held in the Reception Centre of Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road, Saint John on Friday, October 5, 2018 from 2 to 4 pm. A private family interment will take place at the Baptist Cemetery, Kingston at a later date. Remembrances in memory of Earl may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
