It is with heavy hearts the family of Earl Edward Gunn announce his passing at the Saint John Regional Hospital on May 24, 2018 at the age of 74 after a long illness. Earl was born in Saint John on March 20, 1944 to the late Howard and Helen (Peacock) Gunn and was the loving husband for 54 years to his wife Rose (Chamberlain) Gunn.
Earl was a mechanic and loved to work on old cars. He was an outdoorsman who loved to hunt and fish, both off the shore and on the ice. All will remember him for his outspoken nature and the fact that you knew where you stood with him, at all times. Earl was a family man who just adored being a grandfather. Naleah will always hold a special place in her heart for the time she got to spend with her Grampie. He will be deeply missed.
Along with his wife Rose, he is survived by his son Earl Jr., daughters; Roseanna Gunn, Christina (Jim) Gunn, Beatrice (John ) Heath, Loriann (Brian) Gunn and Sherry O’Brien, several grandchildren and great grandchildren, brother Leonard (Betty), as well as several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his granddaughter Elizabeth, and his seven brothers and one sister.
Arrangements are entrusted to Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road (646-2424). In keeping with Earl’s wishes, no services will be held. A Celebration of his Life will be held at his family's home on June 23, 2018 from 2-6pm. For those who wish, memorial donations to A Living Memorial would be appreciated by his family.
