Douglas Betts

The death of Douglas Alfred Betts occurred unexpectedly on Wednesday March 29, 2017 at his residence. Born March 13, 1941 in Saint John, he was the son of the late William and Vivian (Handspiker) Betts. Douglas was employed with the Port of Saint John for 26 years. He was a member of the Harbour Christian Church, the Knights of Pythias and enjoyed playing darts. He is survived by his brother Wayne (Noreen) Betts of Quispamsis, nephew Lance (Julia) Betts of Quispamsis and niece Alana Betts (Matt Acker) of Rothesay and special friend and companion Sharon McKenzie. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his sister Vivian Dawn Betts.

A Memorial Service will be held from the Fundy Funeral Home Chapel on Monday, May 8th at 2:00 p.m. Donations in his memory may be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation or the charity of one’s choice.
