Dorothy Snodgrass

It is with great sadness the family of Dorothy (Nee Gray) announces her passing which occurred on August 17, 2019 at Shannex, Embassy Hall. Dorothy was born April 7, 1936, she was the daughter of the late Murray Edgar and Violet Mae (Tait) Gray.

She was a sales clerk and did cleaning over the years working for City Market, NB Museum and Wilson’s. Dorothy volunteered at the Saint John Regional Hospital Gift ship for many years with over 6500 hrs of dedication, she was an avid reader, enjoyed crosswords and was a fan of Jeopardy.

Dorothy is survived by sons Gerald (Marlene) of Quispamsis, Daniel (Grace) of Saint John and Timothy of Fort McMurray; daughter Kathy MacDougall (Stephen) of Nauwigewauk; brother William Gray and sister Mary Lee (Robert) both of Saint John; 12 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren; nieces, nephews and friends. Along with her mother and father; Dorothy was predeceased by brothers Murray, Alan, Peter, John and David; sisters Rose Kazimer, Margaret Daigle and Shirley Melanson; siblings in infancy Ronnie, Jimmy and Madeline and former husband and friend William Gerald Snodgrass.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road (646-2424) with visitation on Wednesday, August 21, 2019 from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. A funeral service will be held on Thursday at 11am from the Fundy Funeral Home Chapel with a private family graveside service to follow. Donations in Dorothy’s memory can be made to Children’s Oncology at the Saint John Regional Hospital.

The family would like to take this opportunity to thank the Doctors, Nurses and Staff at Shannex Embassy Hall for the care and attention given. Your kindness and compassion will never be forgotten.
