Dorothy Alberta (McGaghey) DeLong

It is with profound sadness the family announces the passing of Dorothy Alberta (McGaghey) DeLong, loving and devoted wife of 69 years to Wendell DeLong which occurred on Thursday, June 13, 2019 at Kennebec Manor.  Born 1929, in Saint John, NB, she was the daughter of the late Perley and Eliza (Pottle) McGaghey.

Dot lived her life as a very caring, loving and generous person. She was devoted to her family, friends and also lending a hand to those in need. She was known as a great knitter and loved her time spent travelling with Wendell. Dot will always be remembered for her excellent skills in the kitchen, she was a wonderful baker.

Left to mourn is her husband Wendell DeLong and their children; Judy DeLong, Tom (Theresa Kennedy), Lynn (Rick) Beaudoin, Bob (Kim), Gail (Bob) Cropley and Neil (Nancy). She will be remembered by her grandchildren; Kurt (Heather) Barton, Joey Martin, Melissa (Todd White) DeLong, Jay DeLong, Jayson (Katrina) Beaudoin, Donald Beaudoin, Bryan Beaudoin, Rebecca (John) Fitzpatrick and Jennifer DeLong, cherished great grandchildren; Lucas, Logan and Willow Barton and Hanley DeLong, and her only sister; Elsie McGaghey.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her brothers.

Resting at the Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road (646-2424) with visitation being held on Tuesday, June 18th from the hour of 12:30pm until a funeral service from the Fundy Chapel at 2:00pm. Interment to follow at Cedar Hill Extension Cemetery.
