Donat Joseph Fournier

Mr. Donat J. Fournier passed away on July 29, 2018 at St. Joseph’s Hospital. Born in Portage River on March 9th, 1936, he was a son of the late Alphée and Charlotte (Richardson) Fournier. He is survived by brothers Alphonse of Caraquet, Vincent of Bois Blanc, sisters Bertha of Montreal, Elizabeth of Montreal, Louisa of Saint John, Julienne of Quispamsis, and Nancy of Sussex. Also surviving are nephews Paul Benoit of Saint John, Bobby Benoit of Fredericton, Daniel of Montreal, Patrick of Montreal, Roger of Tracadie, Eloie of Tracadie, Mario of Montreal, nieces Jacqueline Rouselle of Moncton, Kathleen Benoit of Edmonton, Joanne of Edmonton, Nathalie of Montreal, Linda of Montreal, Marie-Pierre of Quebec, Madeleine of Montreal, Gisele of Portage River, Anna of Montreal, Colette Fournier of Tracadie, Sylvie Fournier of Caraquet, and Carolle Landry of Alberta.  Along with his parents, Donat was pre-deceased by his brother Pierre, sisters Nathalie, Laura, and Louzia, as well as a niece, Monique Bonin, and a nephew Gaetan Glaspy. Resting at Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road, Saint John (646-2424) with visitation on Wednesday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. The funeral service will be held on Thursday at 2pm from the Fundy Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will take place at St. Joseph’s Cemetery.
