Donald "Donnie" Malcolm Young

With heavy hearts, the family of Donnie Young announces his passing, which occurred at Bobby’s Hospice on Sunday, June 10th, 2018. Donnie was born in Saint John on May 25th, 1950; a son of the late Chester and Stella (Wright) Young. He worked for APM for 26 years, and enjoyed time with family during the holiday season, many hours at Saints Rest Beach, and he loved his New York Yankees. Donnie is survived by his brother Byron (Dawn); nieces and nephews James, Sheri (Jason) Pineo, Heather (David) Young, great nieces and nephews Caley, Emily and Dylan, and many good friends; in particular Mike Clarke, Glendon (Skipper) Johnson, and his hospital friend Dave. Many thanks to Kathy for her many visits with Donnie, and thanks to the nurses and staff of Bobby’s Hospice for their care and compassion.
Arrangements are under the care and direction of Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road, Saint John (646-2424). In keeping with Donnie’s wishes, there will be no visitation or funeral service; a private family graveside service will be held at Fernhill Cemetery. For those who wish, remembrances to a charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family.
