It is with great sadness the family of Dan Murray announce his passing which occurred at the Saint John Regional Hospital on Sunday, January 20th, 2019 with family at his side following a courageous battle with cancer. Born in Saint John, Dan is the son of the late Arthur Murray and Teresa (Cripps) Murray of Saint John. Dan was a dedicated employee of Canadian Tire for over 37 years. He was a great Montreal Canadiens and Saint John Sea Dogs fan and enjoyed traveling to the United States especially Las Vegas.
Dan is survived by his loving wife of 29 years Suzanne (Smith) Murray; his mother Teresa Murray; uncle Bill Cripps of Milwaukee, WI; aunt Mary McBreen of Bournemouth, England; parents in-law, Al and Anita Smith; sister-in-law Laurie (John)Gilbert ,3 special nieces; cousins and many friends.
The family wishes to thanks Dr. Anthony Reiman and the Oncology staff at the SJRH for their exceptional care of Dan; his Extramural team who made his time at home more enjoyable and the SJRH Palliative Care team for their care and compassion. They also would like to thank Dan and Suzanne’s co-workers for their support during his illness.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road (646-2424) where visitation will be held on Friday January 25th from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. Funeral mass will be held from Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church, 31 Gondola Point Road, Rothesay on Saturday, January 26, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. Private family interment to take place at St. Joseph’s Cemetery. Donations in Dan’s memory can be made to the Stay Strong Program YMCA; Extramural – Saint John Unit, Saint John Regional Hospital Palliative Care Unit or Donor’s choice.
