Connie Gaudet

It is with sadness yet appreciation for a life well lived, that the family of Constance “Connie” M. Gaudet announces her passing that occurred on Sunday August 4, 2019 at Kings Way Care Centre. Born 1929 in Saint John, she was the daughter of the late William and Mabel (Connell) Brewer and loving wife of the late Melvin Gaudet.  Connie worked as a supervisor for many years at Zellers and Woolco and was a long-time member of the former St. Joachim's Parish.

Connie is survived by her sons Edward (Ruth) of Quispamsis, John (Lori) of Dundas, ON and Paul (Wendy) of Saint John; daughter Melanie (Marty) Gaudet-McCarthy of Quispamsis; sister Kathleen Risk of Saint John; cherished grandchildren Gary, Alyssa (Jason), Mathieu, Jaimee (Bobby), Drew, Emily, Ben, Cameron and great-granddaughter Chloe; several cousins, nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, Connie was predeceased by her son Gary Gaudet; step-mother Marie Brewer; brothers William, John, Kenneth and Thomas and a sister Muriel Parkinson.

Connie was a beautiful soul, known by many names to those who loved her. She was Mom, Nanny, mother-in-law, aunt, sister, cousin, neighbour, friend. She was a source of light to all who knew her. She wanted more than anything for everyone around her to be happy. She found joy where many of us often forget to look; in seeing children at play, in the unique personalities of her grandchildren, in a drive in the country. Her biggest joy was being surrounded by family and seeing to their every need, creating memories of family get-togethers that her loved ones would cherish forever.

The family would like to extend sincere heartfelt thanks to the incredibly generous and compassionate staff at Kingsway Care Centre. Their kindness and caring were a source of strength and peace in some very difficult times.

Resting at Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road on Tuesday August 6, 2019 from 2-8 p.m. A Funeral Liturgy will be held from Fundy Funeral Home Chapel on Wednesday August 7, 2019 at 11a.m. Interment will follow in St. Joseph's Cemetery. The family would appreciate donations made to Kings Way Care Centre, KV neighbourhood.
